Alexandre Benjamin Navet

Van Cleef & Arpels
The brief

To celebrate Ramadan, Van Cleef & Arpels decided to collaborate with Alexandre Benjamin Navet, a renown artist whose drawings are characterized by naive traits features with bright and colors. Our challenge was to keep his recognisable style throughout an animated film.

Captures of the different animations produced (7 clips of 15s). These videos were broadcasted during Ramadan (Ramadan Kareem, Eid Mubarak)

Work on drawings

In order to preserve Alexandre Benjamin Navet's style, we "projected" these drawings on simple volumes and animated a camera that moves within this space. This concept was reminiscent of the artist's scenographies, as he drew directly a vase on a vase.

Elements of the film, such as the curtains or the palm trees, are animated frame by frame with a digital brush that we sought to render as close as possible to the artist's pastels.

Work on jewelry

During our collaboration with Van Cleef & Arpels and Alexandre Benjamin Navet, we worked on 10 unique jewelry pieces. Meticulously modeled, textured, shaded, rigged and calibrated for custom work done in-house. These were designed for use in films and print media.

We expanded the creative concept to print media and video displays featured throughout the Middle East.
